IBSA Bodysurfing World Tour Championship 2023-2024
The IBSA (International Body Surfing Association) has formally invited The Coolum Wedge 2023 to become their first official qualifying tournament for the inaugural Bodysurfing World Tour Championships currently earmarked to run in early 2024
With the grass roots vibe that we all love at the Wedge, it's still a core value and the Wedge is even more Where the (International) Tribes Come Together
The Coolum Wedge will be the first event in the world, to be used as a Bodysurfing World Tour Qualifying Event, where points will be awarded for IBSA World Championship Final qualification
All IBSA events are classic style (non-handplanes only)
International IBSA competitors will be able to compete in The Wedge
There are five regions that will qualify athletes to compete in the IBSA Bodysurfing World Tour Championships – Australia, Europe, Hawaii, South America and USA
So all IBSA events, are in the classic style, i.e Non_handplane( so no handplanes in the Friday event.) However you can still use your favourite sled in the Wedge divisions on the weekend, if you like.
Categories in the Bodysurfing World Tour championships will eventually expand to include separate events for men and women in Juniors, Open and masters (over 35’s)
Please check back soon, as we will add more information and update, as soon as we have more details.
